The Haubensak laboratory is seeking highly motivated postdocs interested in pioneering novel multidisciplinary approaches towards understanding the emotional brain [1].
To this end, we use circuit neuroscience and behavioural genetics to understand how neuronal circuits process affective information. For our activities, please visit http://www.imp.ac.at/research/wulf-haubensak/ and http://cbr.meduniwien.ac.at/organisation/dept-neuronal-cell-biology/home.
In your project, you will use imaging approaches to explore how cortico-limbic network dynamics encode affective behavior [2] and how genes modulate circuit activity to program behavioral traits [3]. You will acquire fundamental knowledge in state-of-the art neuroscientific workflows, linking behavioural genetics to systems neuroscience [4].
Ideally, you should have an academic education in natural-, computer science or medicine and hold a MD or PhD with specialisation in neuroscience; in addition, experience in neuronal population imaging in rodent models (endoscopic or 2 Photon) would be beneficial. We would like welcome you as independent and communicative researcher in our team, with enthusiasm for shaping our interactive environment and workflows in interdisciplinary neuroscience.
Expected starting date: July 2022, for up to six years.
The gross salary is 4.061,50,- Euro (14x year), flexible pending professional experience.
