The Center of Brain Research, Medical University of Vienna, is an internationally leading, multi-disciplinary research institution in neuroscience (see http://cbr.meduniwien.ac.at/ for further information). The present recruitment notice is from Department of Neurophysiology headed by Jürgen Sandkühler. The position is assigned to the Research Group of Ruth Drdla-Schutting. The primary focus of the group is on understanding the role of glial cells and neuron-glial interactions in the pathogenesis of chronic pain and opioid analgesia, see Science, 324 (2009), Science 335 (2012), Science 354 (2016).
We offer a position for a period of three years. We seek a highly competitive neuroscientists with a PhD degree in a relevant discipline and a strong background in in vitro and/or in vivo neurophysiology. Experience in pharmacogenetics, two-photon/confocal laser-scanning microscopy and advanced behavioural assays is of advantage. FELASA or an equivalent personal certification is a plus.
