A Post-doc position is available at the Center for Brain Research, Med. Univ. Vienna, Austria in the lab of Prof. Thomas Klausberger for a period of 6 years.
The lab of T. Klausberger investigates how identified neurons in the prefrontal cortex and hippocampus contribute to network operations, oscillations and cognitive behaviour. The techniques used include in vivo electrophysiology with glass electrodes and silicon probes in freely-moving and head-fixed rodents, cognitive tasks, Ca2+ imaging, optogenetics, multi-channel spike and local field potential analysis, immunofluorescence microscopy, Neurolucida 3D reconstructions of neurons and electron microscopy.
The successful candidate should have a PhD, should have a strong scientific background in electrophysiology, data analysis and neuronal circuits, and have a curiosity about cortical circuits.
